A Note from the Founder and CEO of TORKSTROM:

In the past decades, we have been witnessing an alarming surge of extreme weather events and a shift in extreme temperatures and weather patterns brought about by human-induced climate change. Some of these shifts may be natural, but since the 20th and the 21st century, human activities have been the main driving force of these changes. As we continue to pump greenhouse gases and pollutants into our atmosphere, such as CO2, Methane, Particulates and other chemicals, we will continue to witness some of the symptoms in the form of; extreme weather, diminishing sea ice, year after year of record-breaking temperatures, drought, and extreme wildfires. All of these factors are creating excessive stress for our ecosystems, and hardship for everyone.

Today’s companies, more notably climate technology companies, are relying more and more on the newest advances in AI, as a valuable component in their business model, to develop solutions to the climate change crisis. This approach definitely has its advantages, but it can also place companies, governments and the public in a precarious position, believing that technology and AI alone, can solve our climate change crisis.

In my opinion, we will never reach emissions reduction of 45% by 2030, and definitely we will not reach net-zero by 2050. It's just not realistic. It will be in our best interest to start bracing for the worst possible scenarios with these wildfires. Even with today’s global collaborations, nations are still unprepared to handle today’s extreme global wildfire.
